5
Things First Time Visitors to Kaua'i Should Consider

(and repeat visitors might consider as well!)

Secret Beach
Secret Beach
1. Spend a day at any of the North Shore's beaches. Secret Beach and Anini Beach are our favorites. Both are big enough to accommodate lots of beach goers, yet spread out enough so you will feel as though you have a fabulous beach all to yourself!

2. Indulge by having a drink at the Princeville Hotel at sunset. There's a reason the prices at this hotel are astronomical - you're paying for the view. But what a view it is! And you can experience the same view, just for the cost of enjoying a mai tai or your favorite tropical beverage on the lanai of the world famous Princeville Hotel.

3. Take a Helicopter Ride. If you treat yourself to one adventure, a view of Kauai from the air is not to be missed! Some parts of the island, especially the Na Pali coast, can only be seen from the air! You'll be glad you did it.

4. Soak in the scenery of Waimea Canyon on the west side of the island. If you time it right, even an amateur photographer can capture a picture-perfect postcard shot of one of the world's most spectacular vistas.
Aloha
5. RELAX and enjoy the ALOHA spirit of the island! As if you needed anyone to tell you that. Along with the Aloha spirit, relaxation is a requirement when you come to Kaua'i!

About the rain you hear associated with Kauai...yes on average Kaua'i gets more rain throughout the year than the other Hawaiian islands. And it's true that Kaua'i is home to the "wettest spot on earth" - Mt. Wai'ale'ale, which receives an average of 440 inches of rain a year! However, the rain showers that sprinkle the island generally don't linger. And remember, the gentle rain that sweeps over the island is the basis for the lush tropical setting for the Garden Island, and provides the opportunity for breathtaking rainbows and spectacular waterfalls. Just look mauka (towards the mountains) after a rainfall for a peak at nature at work on Kaua'i!

Mahalo for your consideration.
