Exploring Kaua'i

Hanalei Valley Lookout

It is impossible NOT to enjoy your time spent on Kauai. Whether you choose to have an active, adventurous holiday, a relaxing, rejuvenating respite, or you want to arrange your own escape from the stresses of everyday life, the Isle of Discovery will provide the appropriate outlet for you. Some of the activities at or near the Princeville Resort are:

> Hiking - the Na Pali coast (@10 miles from Princeville) is the premiere hiking destination in all of Hawaii, but there are many other day hikes close by.

> Golf - the Makai course is right out your doorstep, and the Prince course (rated #1 in all of Hawaii) is a short drive away.

> Tennis - the Princeville Tennis Club has 6 courts, but you'll have a hard time keeping your eye on the ball with the incredible view at the courts.

> Walking - the Princeville Resort has many paths to stroll (or bike) around.

> Swimming - a private swimming pool is onsite. Plus, miles and miles of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are minutes from your doorstep!

> Adventure Tours - learn about Hawaiian wildlife and take an eco-adventure tour at the same time!

> Surfing - the perfect place for beginners and pros alike, Hanalei Bay is a short drive down the hill from Princeville.

> Snorkeling and Scuba - visit almost any of the North Shore's beaches for an underwater adventure.

> Horseback riding - check out the Princeville Ranch.

> Kayaking - fast growing adventure activity on the north shore. Kayak along some of Kauai's most scenic rivers, including Hanalei and Kalihiwai.

> Helicopter Tours - the Princeville Airport offers helicopter tours, and other tour operators are located in Lihue. A helicopter tour is truly a dazzling experience, and parts of the north shore are only accessible by air. There are many helicopter tour operators; here is one to consider:
Island Helicopters
The beaches on Kaua'i are spectacular. HOWEVER, despite the beautiful surroundings the open ocean does pose some danger, so it is VERY worth your while to pay attention to beach conditions.

Be very careful not only when you are in the water but also as you approach the shore. Also be mindful of sudden drop offs in the reef once you are in the water, as well as strong currents and the changing weather conditions.

The best attitude to take while visiting a Kaua'i beach is to use common sense. Don't go in the water if you are at all unsure of the conditions or your own water adaptability. Most of all, be respectful of the power of the open ocean.

We want you to have a relaxing and safe visit to Kaua'i!!
